The Mystery of CURLY HORSE History

Page Construction in Progress!!

We intend to include lots of fascinating information on the mysterious history of the American Curly Horse here! We have a number of wonderful resources with vintage photos and decades old magazine articles and even Sioux winter count drawings all attempting to unravel the history of this wonderful breed! For now, feel free to check out the article by Three Feathers in Saddle and Stirrups magazine on our Media and Art page. Scroll down to the 3rd installment in the series of articles titled "One of the Great Mysteries of the Equine World". See it here.

In the meantime, we would like to provide some history on the Native American line of curly horses from the Warrior bloodline. Most of our herd here at Three Feathers is descended from this line of curly horses. Please check out this link to Crow Country Curly Horses which has a wonderful page on the history of this line of curly horses including photos of drawings by Black Hawk, Chief Medicine Man of the Sioux. All of the horses born here at Three feathers receive Sioux names in honor of their rich Native American heritage.Read more here.

Also, in the meantime, be sure to check out these other great sites for more curly horse history information.
